The first Oktoberfest took place 199 years ago, in honor of the wedding of the future king, Ludwig 1, and Princess Theresa von Sachsen-Hildburghausen, whose name is borne today by the square where the renowned Bavarian beer fest takes place. Starting in 1819, the City Council of Munich became responsible for running the festival. Its main task was to make sure that the specially-brewed Oktoberfest beer found its way to its fans. Even if you don’t plan to vacation in Munich, don’t worry. The Festival has long gone beyond the territory of a single city. Today it is celebrated in most world capitals.


This year, Oktoberfest takes place at the Premier Palace Hotel  from September 15 through October 15. Throughout this period, you will be able to savor the taste of traditional Munich beer and the best appetizers in the Fan Fest Sports Bar of the Premier Palace Hotel. But that’s not all!
